What do you mean you have a giveaway for the soundtrack to the movie He’s Just Not That Into You, Britt?
Didn’t you already post today, Britt?
Ah. Yes. Yes, I did. And I may have mentioned something about deadlines and missing them and dropping balls left and right. *sigh* Insert example of things falling through the crack here.
Several A few weeks ago, the lovely people at One2One Network asked if I’d be interested in reviewing the CD for the new chic flick He’s Just Not That Into You. It’s been a long time since I’ve discovered any new music, so I happily agreed. Plus, do you know how expensive music is these days?
Yes, so. I received the CD quite a while ago and have been meaning to tell you all about it, but, um, the point is I’m telling you now. Yes? (I’m also going to make it up to you by giving away some free stuff. That I’m not responsible for mailing out so you’ll actually receive it if you win. Yes.)
My thoughts on the He’s Just Not That Into You Original Motion Picture Soundtrack:
I instantly thought of the Dumb and Dumber Soundtrack. Maybe that’s weird (I’m certain it is), but I was reminded of listening to that CD way back in the day and feeling happy and bubbly and kind of new agey because the sound was just a little bit different from mainstream pop.
Of course, now I’m much older and listening to the He’s Just Not That Into You CD as a married mother of two instead of the highschool girlfriend of a football captain. I was most aware of that change when listening to Fruit Machine by The Ting Tings. It’s too light for my slightly more cynical view of the world, but still just left of mainstream enough to be interesting.
My favorite song on the CD is James Morrison’s You Make It Real. It has a different sound than the rest of the album. This particular song is less bubble gum pop and more guy with a guitar sitting on the edge of your bed in your dorm room trying to explain the emotions running around in his head for you.
I’m a sucker for that kind of lyrical romance.
In conclusion:
Dude, you don’t me to tell you what kind of music to listen to. You can get a sampling for yourself here and decide what you like best.
If you like what you hear, the CD was released February 3rd (hey, it’s still this month. Stop judging me.) and is available on Amazonand iTunes. The movie premiered February 6th and is still in theaters thank you very much.
Now. The Giveaway. (And the most important reason I had to post twice in one day if I still wanted to make this happen for you guys. OOPS!)
I’m giving away one CD and one He’s Just Not That Into You hoodie* to ONE lucky reader. *Pouty I’m too sexy for this hoodie face not included.
To be entered:
Leave a comment on this post and use a valid email address where I can reach you. Seriously, it doesn’t matter what you say. I’m going to pick a random comment using an online randomizer. Don’t worry about being witty if that’s too much stress. (See how much I love you?)
You have from now until February 26th (that’s Thursday) to enter.
And…. go.
(FULL DISCLOSURE: I’m getting a free CD and a free hoodie of my own out of the deal. I think it’s safe to say they aren’t buying my opinion with gold bars here, people.)
