My First Attempt At Bad Reality TV

by Miss Britt on October 29, 2008

The blogging experts say it is taboo to give a laundry list of What You Did Today on your blog. Apparently, it’s boring.

But they don’t say anything about showing what you did.

This concept was shamefully stolen from Whall. His 3 Minute DITL Video series is fantastic. I am but a pale imitation compared to the awesomeness that is his itty bitty doses of dry wit and humor.

But I have boobies. So there’s that.

I also borrowed some boobies from three fabulous Florida bloggers.

BEFORE I FORGET: there will be no Clearly, You’re Retarded Radio tonight. I’m going to see Barack Obama and Bill Clinton with Faiqa instead. We’ll be back next week. Promise!

Oh Goodness! The camera is simply not big enough to contain the CUTENESS THAT IS YOUR CHILDREN!

And you can thank your hubby for the work-out my tummy muscles just got! Busting him singing in the car? That would make an excellent ending for a Mastercard commercial! (ya know… “priceless”).

Anyway. You’re beautiful! Your family is beautiful! And you (all) look happy and well-adjusted, Miss Britt!

I wonder if you ever thought in a million years, that Florida would agree with you so much.

I know you have problems, just like everyone else. Stresses. Things you wish were different, etc. But overall? You just… look like you belong. I think you’re more content and happy and satisfied with your life, then your “dark moments” let you see.

I envy you that you know where you belong. And how. But in the best possible way! :)

That was a nice covert act of terrorism committed at the polling place.

Now had you gotten in the face of those protestors… and then tried to get away in a dead car… THAT would have been awesome!!!

avitable: OK, I’m just going to need you to fill out this form first and someone from that department will get back to you.

Amber: actually, I *thought* Florida would be easy and perfect. I was never in a million years expecting the hard parts! lol

PAPA: she so is. I hugged her lots and lots. And want to run away and live with her.

    Bucky: I’ll keep practicing.

Dawn: no, the bedhead and lack of shower squished my curls.

    Kristin: hahahahaha – will do

Peggy: 31 states offer early voting in order to cut down on lines at the polls on election day and encourage people to vote who normally wouldn’t be able to. This isn’t new – but it’s the first time it’s being pushed like this.

Crys: bring it. I will snap you like a twig.

    Faiqa: yeahhh, he’s a’ight. ;-)

hello haha narf: yeah, I knew that would be an issue for people posting it during the week. Damn.

NYCWD: it’s like I can’t help myself! I am The Accidental Terrorist!

(Except not really Mr. Homeland Security Guy. Promise.)

Karen Sugarpants: they really did just blow me away. I was AMAZED at what a good time I had with them. Awesome, awesome women.

Your hair cut makes me want to cut my curls the same way. I’d be the brown Miss Britt. But I’d look like an electrified Mufasa, I’m sure.

    I voted early too! GOBAMA!

I am so loving that hair!

And amen to the smoking thing. I hate it when I have to sit around and wait. I always think, “If I still smoked…” And not smoking means I’ll have to have that feeling longer. Maybe that’s what they mean when they say quitting doesn’t make you live longer, it just makes it feel longer.

    Best parts of the video:

    - The Abercrombie model sings!!!
    - Britty pulls out a HUGE cosmetic box. I SO do the same thing…
    - How adorable the kids were. “…but I didn’t vote!”
    - The protesters. Who knew that Obama wasn’t a US Citizen, but he got THIS far in the election that he is a serious contender…ha!

    Loved it!

    Maria: dude, Mufasa was hot.

B.E. Earl: I’m a classy girl. Would you expect anything less?

Sybil Law: it was the second time it had happened that weekend so I knew what it was. The first time it happened? Not. so. calm.

sam {temptingmama}: A girl has to be prepared!

Finn: yeah, the waiting cigarette is WAY worse than the after dinner cigarette now!

themuttprincess: well, I had a big weekend

Coal Miner’s Granddaughter: me too. Maybe a little.

Sheila (Charm School Reject): dude, I MIXED the kool-aid! :-P

    Nan Patience: thanks!

Anissa@Hope4Peyton: what?!? no! you were awesome in my video! totally different!!

hello haha narf: we are a musically talented family, what can I say?

Robin: I didn’t even think anything about the tool box until the comments! lol

Selma: I’m hoping to if I can get a replacement video camera. Mine drowned in mysterious bar liquids right after that last shot.

Melanie (Modern Mami): I am the absolute worst at inviting people to stuff. I GET invited, but I never think to do the inviting. I always feel stupid assuming people would WANT to come hang out with me. *blush* I’ll no better next time!

This was a great tribute. It was a tribute, right? At the end, you played my song “You’re so Wayne… you probably think this song is about you…”

And *finally* someone understand the difficulty and pain that is talking to a camera by yourself.
