Further Proof I Have No Business In A Calendar

by Miss Britt on September 29, 2008

I have developed a new obsession.

Fall Fashion.

No. Really. I’m totally serious. I am that shallow and superficial.

This weekend alone I purchased three pairs of tights and yet another pair of menswear inspired shoes. I also tried on eight sweater dresses, five cardigans and one trench coat.

This may be a good time to remind you that I live in Florida. And also am clearly crazy.

Do you know who wears tights in Florida in October? Crazy people. Do you know why? Because it is damn near 90 degrees in October in Florida. With humidity. Florida doesn’t understand the meaning of the terms Fall or Fall Fashion.

But! Purple tights! So cute! And totally In right now!

*sigh*

I am never going to survive this fucking photo shoot.

It’s like here in England everyone’s “I will wear these damn shorts/mini skirt/tea dress, even though it’s cold enough to turn my legs blue.”
You can’t hold fashion back with a bit of adverse weather.

That was one of the ONLY things I liked about living in Memphis. We had a fall. I got to wear really cute fall outfits.

And Purple??? Why is purple in this year??!! I look like a rabid eggplant in any color of purple!

Oh…. but you look great!

Just drink heavily and put on some teen-pop-slut music while you’re getting photographed. You’ll feel MUCH better.

Love the shoes and the tights. The whole thing works for me.

Very cool. Except they don’t look purple to me. They look more towards a magenta color. Hmmmm…

The shoes? They remind of shoes I wore as a kid (this will age me for sure). they were called “saddle shoes” and we wore them with Bobby Sox.

    Yeah. I’m THAT old.

I’m so jealous. I can never pull off tights, although I love the textured ones. Also, I virtually never wear skirts to work although I should rectify that.

Damn you! We should go shopping. I definitely need the help, haha.

    RW: I ate them.

Melizzard: no one sees me at work. The tights are for me.

Which makes it even more pathetic, I’m sure. LOL

    avitable: that’s TRUE.

Tara@From Dawn Till Rusk: yes, we get plenty of that here too. (See Turnbaby’s comment)

Turnbaby: well, I’m not wearing socks if that means anything.

Of course, I won’t be wearing socks well into December.

    hello haha narf: :-P

Blondefabulous: we get a Fall – in November, December and January. I just don’t want to wait that long!!

    B: thanks! :D

manager mom: my shoot is at 10am. I think I’ll have to set the alarm so I have plenty of time to be boozed up by then.

Jenny from Mommin’ It Up!: tee hee hee – thank you.

Mattie: OK, yes, technically they are kind of pinky. And those ARE saddle shoes – which are also very much In right now.

Peggy: 10 bucks says I’m sitting in air conditioning. :-P

    Sarah: apparently, neither can I.

Bucky: well, that’s not my pool.

    steen: we SHOULD go shopping!!

Redneck Mommy: your new purple hair? Did I miss a post?!?!

greg t: I should also say that is not my tub. That would be Avitable’s tub.

Honeybell: on the contrary, it has everything to do with everything.

    Captain Steve: YAY! Thank you!

    Britt’s Mom: I told you!

    Faiqa: damn straight.

    B.E. Earl: hahahahahahahahahhaha

    Amanda: thank you

Tori: yes, um, actually, it is still September. But still! Fall!

I really don’t carry off purple well. I’ll stick with a purse or shoes. Actually, I think I could do the tights.
Anyway, YOU look fabulous. And those shoes are some of the cutest of the menswear trend right now, for sure. Some of the menswear shoes are fugly ugly. :)

Sybil Law: I got a purple bag this summer in NYC before I realized it was going to be such a huge freaking deal right now. Lucky me!

Ok, I have NEVER gotten or understood, or been anywhere near comprehending “fashion.”

The shoes are cute… but those tights… My mind does NOT get how they “go” with anything else you’re wearing. And you are CUTE! And everything else you are wearing is CUTE! But… It reminds me of when toddlers dress themselves and stuff doesn’t go together. *ducks*

That is really in right now? Goodness.

I suppose I will, once again, NOT be appearing in fashion. lol
