The Greatest Show On Earth. Seriously.

by Miss Britt on September 7, 2008

I am a very important, serious blogger.

Because I am a very important, serious type blogger, companies trust me to do very important, serious type reviews for them.

I take this responsibility very… uh.. seriously.  And importantly.  No, wait.  Just seriously.

ANYway, Mom Central - knowing how very important and serious I am - sent me a package to review:

It seems the circus is coming to town.  The Ringling Bros. Circus, in fact.

Now when you think about the circus, you probably think about clowns.

But that’s because you are not a very important and serious type blogger who has been asked to do a serious review.  Of the circus.

I am clearly taking this very seriously.

And I am being very serious when I tell you that you can get 20% off of circus tickets.

In fact, everyone in this family would like to ask that you seriously consider buying a ticket.

We especially want you to take this seriously if you can attend one of these shows in these cities on these dates:

Indianapolis, IN - Sept. 4-7, 2008
Kansas City, MO - Sept. 10-14, 2008
Grand Rapids, MI - Sept. 18-21, 2008
Denver, CO - Oct. 2-13, 2008
Boston, MA – Oct. 8-13, 2008
Cleveland, OH
- Oct. 24 - Nov. 2
Chicago, IL - Nov. 6 - 30, 2008
St. Louis, MO - Nov. 6-9, 2008
Auburn Hills, MI - Nov. 12 - 16, 2008
Highland Heights, KY - Feb 27 - Mar. 1, 2009
Cincinnati, OH - Mar. 4 - 8, 2008

To get 20% off of tickets to these shows, you just have to go to the Ringling Bros. website and use the promotion code MCC.

Unless, of course, you happen to live in the area of Orlando, Florida.

Then you’ll have to find something else entirely to do with your kids.

Seriously.

I’m going to cry if they don’t come to Orlando this year.

  2. B.E. Earl September 7, 2008 12:32 am

I don’t live in any of those cities or have kids.

But I love clown noses!!! :cheese:

  3. Britt's Mom September 7, 2008 12:43 am

Oh my gosh I LOVE the circys!! And duh - you don’t have to have kids to go to the circus.

I went to see Kung Fu Panda with my brand new husband - sans kids - and laughed out loud with the rest of the kids!!!

What?!?! Emma gave it a good review!

  4. Sarah September 7, 2008 12:56 am

I haven’t been to the circus wince I was a kid.

    Seriously lovin’ the clown noses.

I saw it in Tampa last year, it really was pretty damn cool. WHY no FL dates this year? Since you’re so IMPORTANT, you need to SERIOUSLY get their schedules fixed.

  6. Winter September 7, 2008 1:46 am

Meh. The circus. Ugh. On another note, you have the cutest kids ever. I love it when you post pics of them.

  7. libragirl/Rachel September 7, 2008 8:32 am

We take the kids every other year. When Bello is there. It’s very bizarre watching him walk around NYC with his hair so big. Ya know he’s from Florida.

  8. Blondefabulous September 7, 2008 9:02 am

I see you have the program for Bello, but her in in the Red Unit, what if Bule Unit ends up coming to Orlando? Then you will get a totally different show than the program describes.

I only know this because when we lived in Memphis, Ringling came every year during the first week of June, and the gourmet grocery and restaurant I worked for always provided lunch for the elephants as a promotional gig. We got free tickets and back stage passes and inside info on stuff happening there! Man those elephants can eat!

  9. Blondefabulous September 7, 2008 9:04 am

Why can I never spell correctly in the morning? I meant to say Bello is in the red unit of the circus!

  10. Selma September 7, 2008 9:21 am

Well, I am sorry to be missing out all the way down here because I love when the clowns squirt people with those little plastic flowers and ride around on those tiny bikes. *sigh*

  11. hello haha narf September 7, 2008 9:44 am

last time i went to the circus i made my mom go with me…i was technically the kid and somehow it all made sense in my head. anyhow, it was way cool and we had a blast.

but i didn’t get an awesome fucking red nose. cock suckers!

  12. Stacey September 7, 2008 9:54 am

I must be a circus snob because I prefer Cirque du Soleil. The clown noses look fun though. Who doesn’t love clown noses?

  13. hello haha narf September 7, 2008 9:59 am

oh! get this shit. for YEARS i had a foam clown nose in my car. silly red foam ball, sliced on one side so that it would grip the nose. it resided in my center console and when crappy drivers would piss me off or i had a crappy day at the office i would put on my clown nose. i mean really, how can you be made while wearing a ridiculous red clown nose??!?! one day i had to take my car to folks who weren’t my normal car doctors. can you believe some ratbastard stole my clown nose? who steals clown noses? rrrrrrrrrr!

  14. HoosierGirl September 7, 2008 12:29 pm

Why are none of you smiling? Is it because you are taking this very seriously or because the circus isn’t coming to Orlando?

    Your kids are adorable, BTW.

The whole time I’m reading through your post I am sweating and my heart is pounding. I was so scared you were gonna post a pic of a clown. Whew.

Ok. Um. What were you saying? You are taking this seriously? ;)

  20. Lisa September 7, 2008 4:45 pm

  21. Sybil Law September 7, 2008 5:01 pm

I see that they are coming here, but I have a friend who plays drums (for the circus) and therefore I can get in for free.
    :D
Your hair looks great, and the kids are always cute!

  26. Molly's Mom September 9, 2008 7:24 am

Wow…I can’t believe it’s actually coming by me! I know my 3 yr old would probably love it, but would I be able to handle the overwhelmingness?

  27. Karl September 12, 2008 11:20 pm

I so need one of those noses.

  28. martymankins September 14, 2008 1:16 pm

It’s been years since I’ve been to the circus. My wife took her 5 year old granddaughter last year and she fell asleep 10 minutes into the show. So much for those front row seats.
