Hillary started out by bitching about having to go first. What was that all about? I guess she wanted Obabma to go first cause she had some clever line to nail him with after he spoke or something. Whatever.

Anyway. It saddens me about Hillary. She’s a really nice person in person. Seriously. But I agree that her strategy has been suspect.
On the other hand, it really pisses me off that Obama constantly uses iterations of the “Oh, now you’re just ARGUING” reponse to every criticism. It’s completely annoying.

Policy aside, as I was watching I was absolutely in awe of Obama’s debate skills. It was genius. Not that that is why you should pick a president – but let’s be realistic. There are a LOT of people who vote for the guy they can “have a beer with”.

And what 35 years of experience is she referring to in her ads? I mean, she’s been a senator for a few years, but I don’t think you can count 8 years as the first lady of the US and 8 or so more as first lady of arkansas and count that towards your “years of experience.”

First of all – I thought we discussed last night that you were going to make the point that “good shoes” can be comfortable. While these shoes are obviously delectable, I highly doubt their comfort factor. But that might be just me and my fat, tired feet.
Secondly, I am so disappointed too. I really liked and respected Hillary to begin with but I get a yukky feeling in my stomach now that her entire strategy seems to be slamming her opponent.
And the experience thing? Seriously. She needs to stop that for the sake of thinking people who can look up her legislative experience (slim) and some of the shady things she’s had to deal with (investment snafus).
Damn. I wanted to like you, Hill. I really did!

Rest assured I am NOT a Hill supporter. BUt I am not for Obama either. Very democratic in many ways, but I just don’t like my choices very much.
As far as what he said on immigration last night…sure it was okay, but for me anything short of getting rid of “anchor babies” and shipping all illegals back to where they came from and forcing them to take the legal route to citizenship is far to lacks for me…
You will be shocked to know I was a Ron Paul supporter, because he shared my views on immigration. It is my number 1 concern in this election. The other issues I don’t care about today, in 4 years that may change.

Sandi: one of the things I like about Obama policy wise is his take on Universal Health Care.
His plan is about ACCESS, as opposed to forcing everyone to get it just because the gov’t says it’s “affordable”. It’s a compromise of Canada’s health care system that I fully support.
I also liked what he says about foreign policy. I liked that he said that NAFTA needs to be renegotiated.
I liked what he said about pulling out of Iraq, and that if that pisses the Iraq gov’t off and they want us out NOW – that is their choice as a sovereign nation.
And what he said about Pakistan – basically saying “look, if we have actionable intelligence, we negotiate. If they don’t help out, we take them out ourselves.” That to me makes sense.

I do vote. But, I am not interested in debates where each candidate says what they WILL do. I actually look at their background and records to see what they have done. That said, from everything I heard, it was quite entertaining, but I was busy polishing my teeth with a floor sander.

You know damn well none of them say it the way I said it, but yes the Republican party does favor a fence, making illegals pay back taxes for wages earned illegally in this country and I support that.
I don’t believe you should get free support when you never worked a day in your life here in America. I don’t believe that public education that people pay property taxes towards should be dummied down to people living in governmental housing and apartments that do not speak english so that their children get a fair education, what about other children getting a fair education??
It makes me so angry…
I think what a lot of people don’t realize is that here in Texas, not that long ago, people used to go hunting on the border for people sneaking across. I am afraid that will start happening again and then where will we be???

Hey guys, I’m new here, but I feel someone has to say something nice for Hillary. Ok, I’m French, so between the fact that our presidential election turned out to give power to the biggest jerk ever, and the fact that I can’t follow US politics as well as you guys, I guess it’s hard for you to see any credibility in what I have to say concerning your presidential election. But I’ll give it a shot anyway. I know Barack looks brand new, fresh and nice, and good for you if some of you actually want to marry him or whatever, but I’m still convinced Hillary isn’t that angry bitter bitch you’re saying she is. She’s still a wonderful politician (and his said to be a nice person too), who did make mistakes, especially voting for the war, but who would anyhow be a hell of a president. Aren’t you afraid that Obama isn’t going to keep up the good polls ? He won’t be new and fresh for ever. I did watch the debate, and having read about how angry and bitter Hillary was supposed to be, I must say I was happily surprised ; I didn’t find her that angry, as she says, she’s a fighter, that’s all ; I certainly don’t think she ought to bow out of this race.But again, I may be biased, I did support Segolene Royal in France, so maybe I have a thing for angry bitches… As long as you’re new president is a democrat, I’ll be happy anyway. Glad I came across this nice blog by the way, it looks like some great discussions are happening here.(don’t worry, I’m not interested only in politics, I know how to have fun too…)
