Friendship in yo puter

by Miss Britt on December 10, 2007

I got a… a… um… an award? No, that’s not right.

I got a nice little friendship badge. It’s kind of like those badges you used to get in girl scout’s, except no one has to bleed trying to sew it to a sash. Thank God.

Anyway, Selma says I have been a great buddy in the Blogsophere. Selma’s a peach, and I wish I could remember exactly which one of you insisted that I run over and see what she was all about so I could kiss you for it. She actually writes - like real writing, not like the stream of consciousness rambling I do here. I admire that.

So, now it’s my turn to pass it on, pay it forward, share the love man and all that.

Oh my God the pressure. How in the hell do I pick just a random few people to call friends?! Someone’s going to get left out!! Some sweet soul will find this and not see their name and run off crying into their keyboard!

Shit. Thanks, Selma.

OK, first let me say that I love all of you. Well, most of you. I mean… aside from that chic who said I was predictable and boring on that fucking Johari’s window thing. And that one girl who deleted me off her MySpace page (which is just weird). Oh, and that guy who used to drop by now and then and leave weird pervy and not flattering pervy but just creepy pervy comments. But other than that, I love you all.

And if you send me Christmas presents, I promise to love you more than anyone else.

But for now, before the season is among us, I’ll have to just single out a few of you.

1. Amy - obvious, yet has to be repeated because she really is my BFF. In real life, online, in a crisis, and on a boring ass Sunday afternoon. Don’t feel bad, I’ve known her longer than any of you fuckers.

2. Deanna - it’s hard to believe I’ve only known her for like three months. And I think she’d read my blog for all of about two weeks before she found out I had moved to her area and might need a friend. Thank God for her.

3. Rich of Championable - dude, in a totally appropriate way of course, but I love him to death. He doesn’t read the same blogs as me, we don’t have the same commenters, and I’ve only spoken to him once on the phone for about 90 seconds. But somehow I’ve always felt like we “click”. Appropriately.

4. RW - truth be told, his wife (who I’ve actually never met) really raises his stock. Oh RW, I kid. I love that you give me a reason to use the word cantankerous in proper context.

5. Hilly - something about her just makes me smile.

6. Fabulicious - because while he’s like the entire Internet’s BFF, somehow he can make you feel like you’re the only thing that matters right now.

7. The Mutt Princess - she invited me to a Prince concert. ‘Nuff said.

8. NYC Watchdawg - he gave me one of the nicest compliments I’ve ever received in a comment once. And I bet he wouldn’t even remember it - but I do.

9. ADW - such a big ol’ soft heart under all that profanity. Even if she does like Avi better than me. I’m confident I’ll wear her down.

10. Uhh… shit.

Oh fuck, there’s still so many left! I wanted to talk about the hilarious chic who doesn’t even have a blog, and the ones who’ve shared with me their pain in order to help me through mine, and the ones who just make me laugh and - fuck! But I’m down to my last one! And if I don’t say Adam, I’ll probably get fired!

Fine. I’m sorry guys - you were going to be next. YOU were going to be number ten.

But he pays the bills.

Psst... thanks for stopping by! I hope I didn't traumatize you too badly on your first visit. Remember to subscribe to my RSS feed if you want updates from the site!

Oh yeah, because being compulsorily added at NUMBER TEN is better than being left off the list at all!

    Fucker.

avitable: isn’t it though? I’m so glad you appreciate your inclusion.

AmyD: was there ever any doubt about your position? seriously.

Mom: thank you for remembering to comment on your own daughter’s blog today.

Hilly: no, lots of people find stuff awesome about me. If by “awesome” you mean “crazy”. (wc)

RW: he he he he he he

hellohahanarf: go easy on Selma, she’s a softie.

DeannaBanana: I do. I mean, you know, most times. When I’m not freaking out thinking you’ve gotten sick of me.

ADW: what is with this multiple personality commenting you’re doing today? is this a new thing? This is going to be your gimmick that launches you into blog stardom, isn’t it?

Fuck. Why didn’t I think of that?

Mr. Fab: see - and I BELIEVE you too!

    Crys: dude:

“the ones who’ve shared with me their pain in order to help me through mine”

that was all you! I’m sorry adam is such a glory hog that he won’t let me share more love. :-(

NYCWD: you said “and that is why your husband is the luckiest man in the world” in response to a comment I made on your blog once.

My husband usually gets pity from other people about being married to me. So that stuck with me.

metalmom: heh - thank you! oh look - just for you…

There are some damn cool folks on that list sugar –isn’t it wonderful to have that. And probably why you ‘feel safe’ here.

Oh I see. Send a woman volumes of lesbian porn and share a kick-ass dip recipe and get dissed on the awards. I feel like that chick from the daytime emmy awards who was nominated like 40,000 times and never won; except I’ve not even been nominated. heh. No more porn for you.

Thanks for your kind words. Loved the reasons you gave for choosing friends to give the award to. There are a lot of people out there who really care about you and that is wonderful. I’m feeling all fuzzy and warm and gooey (my son spilt hot chocolate on the couch) at the moment!

Y2K Survivor: :lmfao: no, no, you’re safe!

Momma: I suppose I’ll just have to take comfort in the knowledge that I’ll get there. Eventually.

    DutchBitch: *muah!*

turnbaby: I know, and really I could do it three times over.

    Karen: I am so witty!

Kelly: Oh, Susan, there’s always next year!

    Wicked H: shit. Oh shit.

Selma: no problem, thanks for the love!
