Miss Britt - Dignity Is Overrated

If you’re gonna spew, spew in this

You know how when little kids first go back to school they are exhausted when they get home and their little bodies have such a hard time adjusting?

Yeah, well, my kids are doing just fine. (Except for Emma waking up at 5:30 in the morning - that is not fine)  I, on the other hand, seem to be having one hell of a time adjusting.  At least, I hope it’s just a “getting adjusted” thing.  My “schedule” now consists of

  • drag my ass out of bed
  • muddle through morning commute - which always seems to take longer than I thought it would
  • work
  • muddle through evening commute - which always seems to take longer than I felt like it was taking
  • dinner
  • sit on couch for “just a minute”
  • wake up two hours later - often times finding the kids have been bathed and put in bed and a small circus was performed three inches from my nose without me waking up
  • stay up for a couple more hours in a completely unproductive fog
  • fall into bed
  • rinse, wash, repeat

I have so much shit to do at home, online, etc. etc. etc. (I have clients calling WANTING to give me money from my “old” job that I haven’t been able to get back in touch with) - my house needs to be cleaned desperately (how the fuck that’s possible I don’t know)… and I can’t seem to figure out when or how to get it done!  I’m sure not falling asleep right after dinner would help - but I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with me that I am suddenly taking “evening naps”!

*sigh*

This too shall pass, this too shall pass, this too shall pass…

I think I’m going to have that put on my tombstone. (Now THAT would be hysterical.  Seriously.)

*thinking of segue, thinking of segue….*

Yeah, nothing.  So I’ll just sneakily slide in the fact that I got my very first sale at my NEW job yesterday.  Third day on the job.  Second day on the phones.  I. Rock.

(So, btw, does my boss - who has generously rewarded me with a gift certificate for SHOES!!!!  or CLOTHES!!!)

*thinking of closing, thinking of closing…*

Yeah, um, nothing.

I guess we’ll just have to adopt the Spanish tradition of an afternoon siesta.

  2. Mom Says:

    U. Rock.

  3. Kristin Fogle Says:

Tell Avi that the afternoon siesta thing is okay as long as he in a completely different rooM! LOL

  4. NotaGranny Says:

Good job on the sale!! As for the naps, it is probably just you adjusting the the heat and humidity here. God knows, it has been a hell year!

But, the afternoon siesta does sound good. Drop a quick note when you guys are doing it and I will participate from the west coast of Florida!

  5. themuttprincess Says:

    Congrats on your first sale!

Hopefully this weekend you can catch up on sleep and cleaning… If not, the world won’t end.

  6. AmyD Says:

Now, go home tonight, have a couple :martini: and sleep all weekend!

  7. QofD Says:

I laughed out loud at the tombstone comment. But maybe it’s because I want to be a mortician?

At any rate, things will get better. Hope you’re settling in and all that jazz.

  8. Miss Britt Says:

avitable: oooh yes! and lunches at 11! and swim break at 3!

    Mom: :heartbeat:

Kristin: LOL yeah? why’s that? ;-)

NotaGranny: statewide siestas! It’ll be a trend!

themuttprincess: the world will not end, the world will not end… words to live by.

AmyD: and call you - right?

QofD: well, I have NO interest in being a mortician - and that cracks me up too. Maybe I have the sense of humor of a mortician. :twitchy:

  9. Angel Says:

Congratulations on your first sale. You know, with all of those naps, you might be pregnant. Just kidding. :heartbeat: :heartbeat: You have been running yourself ragged. Take care.

  10. Wicked H Says:

    Go Brittski, GO BRITTSKI!!!!

I clink in your honor :martini:

  11. AmyD Says:

Yes! Definitely… :martini: :martini: :martini: and call me. It’ll be early… you’ll be smashed and I’ll just be getting started. It’ll be great. You can make an ass out of yourself and tomorrow morning I won’t remember anyway!

Not that you’ve EVER made an ass out of yourself.

  12. themuttprincess Says:

Exactly. In the grand scheme of things, a bit of dirty laundry and a dirty house is nothing.

    :martini: :martini: :martini:

  13. Peggy Says:

Maybe I’m emotional but your Mom’s comment brought a little tear to my eye. I love Mom’s!

Anyway, you need to MAKE yourself stay up and get yourself back on schedule. It’ll take 2 days probably but well worth it. By 9p.m - you could be out like a light!

You poor thing, you deserve a break! Or a raise. Something!

  14. DaisyJo Says:

I apologize if I’m pointing out the obvious, but didn’t you change time zones when you moved? That may explain it.

  15. Blue Momma Says:

    Congrats on the first sale!

But what I really want to know is how your hair is holding up in the humidity. And if it is I need product recommendations!

  16. Poppy Says:

Congratulations on the first of a bazillion sales. :)

  17. Miss Britt Says:

    Angel: bite your tongue!!! Now!!!

Wicked H: well thank you

    AmyD: sadly, brittini’s barely materialized!

themuttprincess: how do you pull off laid back so fucking well?

Peggy: I’m not MEANING to fall asleep - maybe I need to put everyone in my house on nap alert or something.

DaisyJo: yeah, one hour - you think that would be enough to screw me up so bad??

Blue Momma: actually, the hair isn’t frizzing at all, and it’s been humid as hell here. I use Aveda - Curly Shampoo and Conditioner, some kind of curling creme which is like putting lotion in your hair, this new Spray shit that’s made out of some kind of moss and smells like dirt (it’s supposed to add hold, I think it helps the frizzes), and their abundance hair spray. And if I need it, the curly palmade or something.

I live and die bye Aveda - totally worth the arm and a leg it costs. AND - blow dry with a diffuser.

Now.. if you can tell me, please, how to handle my skin which is freaking the fuck OUT, I would be much obliged.

    Poppy: from your lips…

  18. Michael Says:

Congrats on your first sale. Once you settle down things will go smoother I am sure.
