Miss Britt - Dignity Is Overrated

My claim to fame was the breakup of 97

My husband came home the other night and asked if I’d ever heard “that song about dying famous”.

He said that I should…

Miranda Lambert’s Famous In A Small Town

(sorry, I couldn’t get it to embed)

You’ve got to get past the very, very country sound.  But if you just listen to the words and watch the images that flick past on the screen… that’s our life.  That’s my town.

Even though I’m getting ready to leave to find another town, another life,  I find myself being really, really glad that I’ve lived here for the last 15 years.

  2. avitable Says:

Pretty soon you’ll be famous in a small world.

  3. J. Says:

That was actually a really cute video.
Looked like my old town too.
And the lyrics were bang on … if a bit ‘twangy’.
I love country music, but twangy bugs me.

I actually like the song. BUt I have to tell you I think it is about the town I live in, population 2,000, the town is called green but spelled Gruene.

Your already world famous so I don’t know what the deal is!

    Look out Florida.

Soon, you will be famous in Swampland.

I like that song a lot. It looks a lot like my hometown too, and reminds me of it. I remember doing everything I could to get the hell out of there, and sometimes I would give anything to be able to move back there.

Thank you for sharing…you gave me back my home…something that I have not truly had in over ten years. :heartbeat: :heartbeat: You’ll never know what this means to me. Thank you. :heartbeat: :heartbeat:

Awww. You know what? It’s always important to remember where you came from. That way when you rule the world become famous people will say, “Wow, she is SO down to earth!”

Sure, it’ll be an act, but if you hadn’t had the 15 years there - you wouldn’t be able to pull it off so convincingly!

  8. Rick Says:

That’s why they call it “country”.

  9. Maria Says:

That’s the way I feel whenever I see movies, etc. set in NYC.

  10. jason Says:

I have such a crush on Miranda…and her small town is about 3 times the size of the one I grew up in, so you can imagine the gossip factor there…I used to be in trouble within 30 seconds of committing a questionable act…that’s how fast news traveled. :-P
