I’m not sure if it’s just because I am running on NO sleep (well, technically, I think I may have accumulated about 3 hours if you add up the 15 minutes here, 30 minutes there, and that one really long 1 and 15 minute stretch)…

But for the first time (at least that my fuzzy brain can remember) someone posted something about me that pissed me off. Truly pissed me off. Enough to actually link and reference and bitch about it here.
Enough that I am stooping to the levels of “sending off my minions” to defend my honor (and I know for a FACT that this is a first). Or share in my outrage. Or something.
Because, maybe, that’s just what an “irresponsible woman” does. And apparently I am an irresponsible, uneducated woman.
And here I thought I wasn’t going to be able to post anything today due to my serious sleep deprivation…

Edited to add: 1) the “irresponsible” came from a commenter of the post, not the author. 2) the author has since clarified, apologized, and edited her original post. Which was pretty freaking cool of her I think.

Some people are just stupid. Their sense of humor is restricted to Jeff Foxworthy and War at Home. Nothing to do but just realize that the world always needs more ditchdiggers.
Don’t bother about people who take anything as a reason to rocket their stats. Actually even don’t post about them is better, leaves them in a deep lonely hole.
It’s a thing called jealousy which drives them.

First off, let me apologize. I did NOT mean it that against you in any way, shape, or form. I am going back to edit it now.
I found your post hysterical, and I do mean that from the point of view of you writing a funny blog, NOT from the point of view of you being “irresponsible” (although that was your word, not mine). I was in a hurry when I typed it, and definitely did not mean offense — just wasn’t thinking and put my foot in my mouth.
The reason I made any comment (and it is not excusable, I know) was that I teach biology. Last year I overheard two college students talking, and a guy said to a girl, “Girls have 4 holes right?” The girl responded, “NOOO, we have three holes!” He then asked, “Which one do you pee out of?” She said, “I don’t know!!”
At that point, I realized that I needed to be teaching these students about their bodies. One asked this year about the place you pee, and if you could accidentally stick a tampon “in the wrong place,” as in “up the place women pee.” As I type that this morning, I was actually thinking, “Damn, school is over and I didn’t tell them that their vagina also doesn’t just open up into their bodies so they can lose things up in there for good!”
I realize that isn’t at all what I typed, and as I said, I do apologize. Your comment, along with those of your faithful readers, made me realize the poor way I put that together. I shouldn’t do things in a hurry! :) Rather than bringing attention to what I thought was a great blog, I screwed up. Not the first time, and I am sure it won’t be the last, but I wanted to make sure you knew that wasn’t my intent and that I am editing it now.
Honestly, if you still find it objectionable, I will either delete the whole post or just say, “Hey, this is funny, go read it.” I didn’t want to just delete it, though, and look like some chicken who can’t admit when she screws up. If you would prefer I do that, though, just let me know.

Woody Allen did say something about 90% of life being just showing up. So I have the WWWD thing down. The other 10% I’m still working on.
I hate when people post something STUPID, then go back and edit it, so I miss getting to make fun of them.
I made a comment to someone in a forum once about something ASININE they said and they went BACK and EDITED their original post so mine no longer made sense. That pissed me off. Yeah, go back and edit after you get called on something! That would be like being able to go back and edit words you SPOKE out LOUD, or YOUR LIFE. You know, you just can’t do it.
Every time I am forced upon the vagina post, I think about my mom and the horrible story she told me. I have not come to terms with it yet.
