Today is Ash Wednesday, which means it is time to give up or take on in the name of Sacramental Sacrifice.
(It also means I am going to be STARVING all day today!! argh)
I was speaking with my husband last night about what we would be giving up for lent. We don’t necessarily give up the same things and there isn’t any rule that says you have to disclose your Lenten promises to anyone, but I thought at the very least it would make for an intelligent conversation.
I told him I had two ideas in mind: sex or TV
And do you know what he told me?
Giving up TV would be a pretty big sacrifice. Because there is a lot of stuff going on right now. With the fake people. And their fake lives. On TV.
Yeah, who wants to miss out on that nightly comfort?
I know what I’m giving up this year.

I give up asparagus. Does giving up sex include masturbation? Because then you can have your cake and jerk off too.

I decided this year to give up bread. As I am a bread whore, I will do anything for yummy bits of garlic toast, pizza crust, just the plain white stuff with some honey!
I thought this would also help in not gaining too much weight during the pregnancy! This is my first act as a practicing Catholic, we shall see how it goes!

You have been nominated for the Battle of the Blogs. Sorry this sounds “canned” because, well, this is canned. I have received lots of entries. I will be working on the ballots that will probably come out next Tuesday (2/27), but this is what I would like from you:
1. First: do you want your blog to be entered?
2. If you could, could you send me a brief (one paragraph) description of your site for me to include with a link to your URL (blog name). I am taking the names from the top of the blogs. Oh, and use the bloggerbattle(at)gmail.com.
You can use the link above to visit the Battle of the Blogs if you have no idea what this is. And, relax, it just means you are loved.

I don’t give stuff up for Lent anymore. I decided that G*d wants me to do more stuff, not less.

Leesa damn, that’s a lot of directions…
Mist 1: that’s not a bad philosophy, actually and you can take on something new vs. giving something up
