Bring on the Christmas

by Miss Britt on December 4, 2006

Dear Christmas Season,

You’ve been banging on my door since Halloween.  That was a little excessive and, quite frankly, rude.  Halloween and Thanksgiving do not have the funding to stand a fair fight against Big Holiday Season.

But now?  Well, the husband and I did our traditional “alone time shopping” for the kids last night.  We reveled in the sales you bring with you.  We stocked up on indulgences that neither of our children need but that they will no doubt delight in Christmas morning.

And of course, thanks to you, I have a legitimate reason for this coming weekend’s Mall Of America Extravaganza Getaway.

So now?  Now I’m ready.  Even though my tree still isn’t up - and my brand new Christmas lights are still in the box rather than hanging from every inch of my roof line… I cannot fight your hypnotic call any longer.

Bring it on, Father Christmas.  Permission to enter in full swing and fine form:  Granted.

Sincerely,

Miss Britt

Ooohhh!!! I can’t wait to get all Christmassy over here as well… I still have to wait for our national celebration of “Sinterklaas” to pass tomorrow and then I’ll be bringing the box of Christmas stuff up from the basement…

You’re so modern and all technological-like to be wasting your time in a mall shopping. Sigh.

    AmyD: :-D

DutchBitch: I was dragging my feet a bit, but I always get swept up with getting presents for people. That is the BEST!

avitable: it’s all about the EXPERIENCE Avi. Plus, shopping online is GREAT - when you know EXACTLY what you’re looking for. Which - for several people - I don’t.

BTW - where’s my damn Christmas Card?!?!?!?!

Mall of America? You live up there?

Are all bloggers from up there these days?

That was me banging on your door.

I did have that weird dream about that, remember?

Mr. Fabulous: Oh no… I’m from IOWA, but not as bad as Minnesota. But Mall of America is worth the drive.

Mist: great. Now I owe that Santa I accosted at the mall an apology.

I’d love to go to that Mall.
I’d be broke for years, but happy.
